O'Brien Estate-Wine and Romance

Is there anything more inspiring then romance and love? There is very little a man won’t do to make the love of his life’s dream come true. Twenty years ago Bart and Barb O’Brien came to Napa on a date. The whole day all Bart could think was, “I dream of marrying this girl someday.” But Barb’s thoughts were, “Someday I dream of owning a vineyard in Napa.” Bart worked very hard to achieve both.

Bart, a high tech entrepreneur, made some brilliant moves during the high tech boom of the late nineties. Although some ventures eventually failed during the high tech bubble burst, Bart made enough money to marry Barb, buy a home, have a couple of kids, and in 2000 Bart made Barb’s dream come true by buying the 33 acre Costello Vineyard.

The romance didn’t stop there. Inspired by love and romance, Bart and Barb came up with boxed sets of wine entitled “Romance Trio” and “Romance Portfolio.” The “Romance Portfolio” features five wines that represent the five stages of a relationship, Flirtation (a dry rose), Attraction (Chardonnay), Romance of the Heart (Merlot), Seduction (a Bordeaux blend), and Reflection (late harvest white). is with great wine there is also the O’Brien Chardonnay, O’Brien Merlot, and Seduction may be purchased without buying the set. All wines are estate wines.

When you visit O’Brien Estate you get a taste of what made the O’Brien’s fall in love with Napa. Located on Orchard Avenue, the tasting takes place outdoors (weather permitting) on a picnic table where views of the vineyards and mountains make a romantic backdrop.
